Successful social justice campaigns so often use social media as a tool for organizing. However, success on Twitter can feel fleeting, unpredictable and/or shallow. It is up to us to appropriate social media as a tool for collective action and expressions of solidarity. In this participatory workshop, we will use movement exercises and bodystorming to ideate ways to hack social media for social change, without losing sight of the human-to-human interaction at the heart of digital communication.
This is a movement workshop in which all bodies are welcome.
Pizza will be provided for an early dinner.
Be prepared to move and to play!
This event is part of a weekend symposium called, “INTERACT,” which includes a co-located reading with Cape Town, South Africa, a panel discussion with narrative game designers, and a workshop on creating motion books.
